The Government of the Virgin Islands is augmented by many boards and commissions on which citizens serve as helpers and guides to community action.  Senator Usie Richards wrote to Governor John DeJongh asking that the Governor fill many of the open positions on the many boards.  There are vacancies on same boards that prevent them from being able to raise a quorum.  Others have solo positions than need to be filled. St. Croix Port Authority has a vacancy, Civil Rights Commission has three vacancies. Same with the Virgin Islands Lottery commission. GERS board has five members service whose terms have expired. Waste Management Authority board has three expired positions. And the Public Services Commission has the same problem, members serving whose terms have officially expired. Some positions are coming up soon, 4 members of the West Indian Company Limited Board will have their terms expire this month and the television system board has the same problem.
