Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands is closing the book on entries to their Directory of Community Organizations serving the Virgin Islands.  The deadline is Wednesday November 24.  If you are a leader of a non-profit service org – call 774-6031. The Pathfinders of the Philadelphia Seventh-Day Adventist Church will host a Thanksgiving Breakfast on T-day November 25 at the Fellowship Hall from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM – the community is invited.

Volunteers of the Virgin Islands are asking the public to donate to the needy for November 25 Thanksgiving Day – They are looking for donations of groceries, water, juice, take-out plates, forks, napkins and other donations for a Thanksgiving Day dinner.  And donations of clothes, chose, toiletries sheet sets and towels.  Call Eunice Roberts at 998-9479 or come to Market Square on Saturday morning. The Village invites parents with youth between ages 12 and 17 to join the strength project starting November 29 for 4 weeks to help build a cohesive family, grow in knowledge, love and setting limits, get positive results and have fun. St. Croix Agriculture and Food fair is coming up – the organizers are looking for a poster.  – the theme is 40 years and still growing strong. Deliver your art on an 8”by 10” poster by December 7. There are three categorite – adult, senior 9for ages 12 to 18 and youth for 11 and under – the winner will be announced on December 10 – get a caash prize and free admission to the aggie fair on President’s weekend.

The University of the Virgin Islands – Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning (UVICELL) Center and the ICC phone company invite  public high-school students to participate in a FREE program designed to improve SAT scores.  Classes beginning January 15. on UVI’s St. Croix and St. Thomas Campus.  Applicantions due Friday, December 3rd to be considered for the program.  first-come, first-serve basis. Iota Phi Lambda Sorority - Epsilon Zeta Chapter is accepting a limited number of applicants to the 14 Academic cotillion – debutante applications are available from Sorority members. The Virgin Islands Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research and the Small Business Development Center, invites policy makers, academics and the business community to explore ways that science and technology can promote economic development in the territory at its first annual conference. The conference themed "Integrating Science and Our Economy: A Model for Island Ecosystems," will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 6, at the Frenchman’s Reef and Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort on St. Thomas.  he goal of this free conference is to provide greater awareness and understanding of the opportunities and mechanisms for optimizing economic leverage from science and technology initiatives in the territory. The Philadelphia Pathfinder Club will be hosting a Thanksgiving Breakfast on Thanksgiving Day November 25, 2010. We are inviting the community to join us  to a sit down breakfast as our Pathfinders serve you with love from 8:00AM till 11:00AM. And when your meal is over we will have an assortment of clothes provided by the community Services Department of our church for your choosing free of charge. All this will be taking place at the Philadelphia Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Fellowship Hall downstairs the main Church on Raphune Hill.

Pistarckle Theater’s Education Department is presenting a special Christmas Production next month. All interested students/parents please contact the theater for more info regarding rehearsal dates and casting opportunities. Show Dates are December 10th and 11th @ 7:00p.m.- 1st Rehearsal/Audition will take place next Saturday 11/13 from 1-4p.m Production assistance is needed for Ushering, Lights, Stage, Set, Sound, and Costume/Wardrobe as well.

The Crucian Christmas Festival Organization. The theme is Play Mas, 1st Class!  The Festival Village will open on December 30 for 10 big days. The Children’s and Adult’s parade will be held on Friday, January 7 and Saturday, January  8.

The Virgin Islands Police Department Estate Bovoni and Estate Tutu Weed and Seed Program are still on the move with its youth programs. They are looking for mentors for the National Police Athletic League Mentoring Program.  The program partners a youngster with a caring adult that engages the youth with positive activities for at least one hour a week.  You could be a mentor call PAL Mentoring Coordinator Jacqueline Freeman at 344-4516 for further information.

Police Commissioner Novelle Francis is urging all neighborhoods and communities to form Neighborhood Watch community safety programs.
