Tutu Park Mall Windmills could start spinning – now that
WAPA and Island Wind Power have come to an agreement. They came to the Public Services Commission last
night with a signed agreement for the interconnection that clears the way for the wind turbines to start turning
wind into electricity. They still have to have an engineer’s come to certify
the turbines and that may take a week or more, but the beginning of big time
wind power is about to dawn on St. Thomas.
Governor John DeJongh is still in Washington DC – he has his
work cut out for him. Shuttling with the delegate from one Congressional office
to another trying to convince the Washington DC lawmakers that the Diageo deal
and Cruzan Rum deals are the right way to use the Rum Cover over tax
rebates. There are several efforts on
Capitol hill to change the rum rebate and the Governor is working to convince
them that they can’t change the rules after they have been used to stimulate our
economic development. The Puerto Rico delegation
is trying to convince Congress that the Virgin Islands lured Diageo away from Puerto
Rico
There is a nationwide recall of the H1N1 swine flu vaccine –
some of the vaccine is too weak to be effective. However the recall does not affect
the batch of vaccine that is in use in the Virgin Islands. None of the weak vaccine

of Directors heard that the cost of all construction materials has rocketed up

handling area for outbound flights, rehab the Air conditioning and change the
building’s footprint – all comes to 20 million.

Good News from Saints Peter and Paul School – they school is
now fully accredited Middle States Association for Colleges and Schools issued

Commissioner of Police Novelle Francis is reminding parents
of the curfew for children under the age of 16- they should be off the streets at
10PM unless accompanied by an adult legally responsible for their behavior.
Violations of the curfew law will be required to perform community service. And
no one under age 16 is allowed in a business that serves alcohol.

Good News Maker of the Day is a math teacher at Ulla Muller school. Adam Kloper has been teaching math at Ulla
Muller school for many years and teaching chess on the side as a way to stimulate
the student’s thinking. More than 30
students are part of the student chess club in third through 6th grade.
Now here comes the Anderson Family Grant to buy a giant chess set for the
school. With chess men that are two feet tall. The unveiling is set for Monday
